Star Ratings for residential aged care homes and services are now available via the ‘Find a provider’ tool on the My Aged Care website.
Star Ratings make it easier for older people, their families, and carers to understand how their services are performing and help those seeking care to choose the right home for them.
Aged care homes and their services have been rated from one to five stars, based on overall Star Rating and four sub-category ratings:
- Resident’s experience
- Compliance
- Staffing
- Quality measures
Star Ratings is designed to encourage continuous quality improvement over time. The Department for Health and Aged Care will continue to develop and share resources to help providers improve the quality of care for residents.
Star Ratings is an aged care reform being delivered in response to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Service, which highlighted the need to provide information about service quality to everyone.
